# April 23 - Drums Modulate the Pad

## 60-Minute Plan
1. `0:00-0:10` Start from a stable drum pattern and one sustained pad.
2. `0:10-0:25` Mult drum triggers or accent outputs to pad destinations: VCA, filter, grain freeze, or effect mix.
3. `0:25-0:40` Use envelopes or VCAs so the drum influence is shaped rather than abrupt.
4. `0:40-0:55` Keep only one or two cross-modulations that deepen the relationship.
5. `0:55-1:00` Record one minute and listen only for call-and-response.

- Which drum voice should be allowed to touch the pad?
- Does the pad pulse with the groove or get chopped apart by it?
- Which modulation destination translated rhythm most clearly?
- Are the drums still the foreground after adding this coupling?
- What does "breathing with the beat" sound like in your system?
