# April 7 - Kick and Low-End Authority

## Focus

## Modules
Tiptop BD808, 2hp Kick, WMD SSF Crater, Moog DFAM, Tiptop Z4000, Erica Synths Compressor, Bored Brain EQx5

## Manuals To Skim
BD808, 2hp Kick, Crater, DFAM, Z4000, Compressor, EQx5

## 60-Minute Plan
1. `0:00-0:10` Patch three kick options and listen one at a time.
2. `0:10-0:25` Choose one as the main kick and use envelope or pitch contour to tighten it.
3. `0:25-0:40` Add subtle rhythmic variation with accents, probability, or a second low percussion layer.
4. `0:40-0:55` Use compression or EQ only after the synthesis feels right.
5. `0:55-1:00` Record a dry kick comparison and choose your strongest low-end voice for the rest of the month.

## Questions
- Which kick carries weight without swallowing the pad?
- Does rhythmic complexity belong in the kick or above it?
- What changed more with compression: tone, punch, or perceived tempo?
- Which kick module responds best to modulation?
- How do you know when the low end is big enough?
