# April 5 - Controlled Chaos

## Focus
Use chaotic and semi-random sources to animate drums and pads at the same time.

## Modules
Buchla and Tiptop Audio 266t, Zlob Triple Cap Chaos, Nervous Squirrel Conway's Game, Nervous Squirrel Zeno's Paradox, Mutable Instruments Branches, Acid Rain Chainsaw

## Manuals To Skim
266t, Triple Cap Chaos, Conway's Game, Zeno's Paradox

## 60-Minute Plan
1. `0:00-0:10` Patch one chaos source to a drum parameter such as decay, pitch, or distortion amount.
2. `0:10-0:25` Patch a different chaos source to the pad voice: detune, filter cutoff, or effect mix.
3. `0:25-0:40` Attenuate both until the patch sounds intentional rather than erratic.
4. `0:40-0:55` Compare clocked random against free-running chaos.
5. `0:55-1:00` Write down one modulation range that gave movement without sabotage.

## Questions
- Which chaotic source feels musical fastest?
- Do free-running modulations drift in a satisfying way or just lose focus?
- What needed attenuation more: drums or pad?
- Which destination sounded best when touched by chaos?
- How can you hear the difference between "alive" and "uncontrolled" in this patch?
